Master of Science in Construction Management
The Master of Science in Construction Management program is designed to extend the undergraduate degree in construction related disciplines and help develop new career options for the candidate. The program increases the student's understanding of the complete construction industry including state of the art processes, production techniques, design functions, research applications, management methods and leadership skills.
Career Opportunities
The program is intended for entry-level managers, project engineers and related supervisory personnel interested in broadening their construction management knowledge base, sharpening their management skills and readying themselves for advancement opportunities and leadership positions within the construction industry.
Graduates of the MSCM program will find senior-level employment within the construction management arena, potentially as construction project managers, senior estimators, planning and scheduling directors, construction safety administrators, business managers or senior project administrators. Potential employers include major constructors, architecture/engineering design firms, large facility owners, developers, construction management consultancy firms, material/equipment suppliers and training/education entities.
Number of Credits
The degree requires a minimum of 30 graduate credit hours including 14 credit hours of core courses, 4 to 8 graduate credit hours of construction management electives and 8 to 12 graduate credit hours of cognate (non-construction management) graduate-level courses of the student's choosing.
