Master's in Health Administration
EMU’s graduate health administration program is designed to develop qualified professionals with solid knowledge and skills in issues related to analysis, planning, design and management of health care institutions and organizations. Students completing the program will be prepared to serve local, state and national communities by contributing to health care-related forums and discussions on health issues, especially those relating to social policy and populations at risk.
Career Opportunities
A graduate degree in health administration will prepare you for management and administrative positions within the industry. Career opportunities are available in hospitals, public health departments, managed care, health care insurance, health care regulation international health, health care for the underserved populations, human resource management, health finance, community health centers, community health departments, and solo and group medical practices.
Number of Credits
Classes are scheduled and designed specifically for the working professional. Courses are held during weekday evenings or on weekends. Additional elective courses may be taken on EMU’s main campus in Ypsilanti. Students will meet with the graduate coordinator to devise a 36–38 credit-hour plan to fulfill program requirements, which include:
- 23–24 credits of program courses
- 3–5 credits of research courses
- 3–6 credits of elective courses
- 6–7 credits of culminating project courses
- 2 credit internship (required for pre-service students)
