Graduate Certificate in Organizational Development

The Graduate Certificate in Organizational Development is a "for credit" program, which means that later on, if you decide to pursue an MBA or a Master of Science in Human Resource Management and Organizational Development, your graduate courses can be applied to that master's degree. You can enter the certificate programs without taking the GMAT or GRE and without business foundation courses. And if you already have a master’s degree, the graduate certificates will further enhance your human resources and organizational development knowledge and skills.

Career Opportunities
The graduate degree programs of EMU's College of Business provide professional preparation for management careers. The primary purpose of these programs is to provide the high-level, professional education needed to enhance the career opportunities of men and women currently employed in business, industry and public service positions in southeastern Michigan.

Program of Study
The graduate certificate in organizational development (OD/CBAD-BU) is earned with 15 credit hours, all of which may be applied toward the master's in human resource management and organizational development.

  • MGMT 602 Theories and Techniques of Organizational Development (3)
  • MGMT 610 Diagnostic and Research Methods in Organizations (3)
Elective courses (choose three of the following):
  • MGMT 613 Leadership in Business Organizations: Theory and Practice (3)
  • MGMT 615 Organizational Design and Strategy (3)
  • MGMT 616 Negotiation and Influence Applications for Business (3)
  • MGMT 628 Human Resource Development (3)
  • MGMT 638 Building Continuous Improvement Teams (3)
  • MGMT 648 Communications and Organizational Development (3)
