Graduate Certificate in Public Personnel Management
The Graduate Certificate in Public Personnel Management is a five-course (14 credit hours) curriculum that is flexible enough to meet the needs of both pre-career and in-service individuals. Taking only one class per term, this certificate program may be completed in 16 months. Should program graduates seek to continue their studies, certificate credits transfer directly into the master's in public administration degree requirements.
Career Opportunities
This graduate certificate will enhance career opportunities for human resources staff members including those changing from entry-level, nonprofessional, professional or technical roles to managerial roles. It is appropriate for individuals working in most public (state, municipal, township, county, school district) and nonprofit (health, social services, arts) agencies.

The curriculum is designed to provide students with a solid foundation of knowledge in public personnel management as well as offer enough flexibility for students to pursue individual interests. Students must complete three required courses and select two of the electives listed below.

Accreditation
All courses in the graduate public management certificate programs at EMU are part of the fully accredited master's in public administration program.
